Cherry Blossom Lanterns In-Person
This year, the National Cherry Blossom Festival will be celebrated between March 20th - April 14th. Started in 1912 when Tokyo Mayor Yukio Ozaki gifted Washington, D.C. with 3,000 cherry trees to celebrate the two countries bond it is now an annual celebtration. during the week long event, visitors come from all over to watch the trees bloom and to participate in a variety of organized events.
During this event, teens will get to paint their own cherry blossom paper lanterns.
