Intro to Mindful Meditation for Educators: Reduce Your Stress and Access Your Inspiration

Intro to Mindful Meditation for Educators: Reduce Your Stress and Access Your Inspiration In-Person

Teachers! Educators! Feeling stressed? Overwhelmed? Looking for some peace of mind? You're not alone. Come learn about mindful meditation and try it out -- it can help! This session, tailored to educators of all kinds who are seeking to alleviate their stress and tap into their inspiration, will introduce you to the basics of mindfulness, some background, and a guided mindfulness meditation experience. Walt Durand, a local teacher of meditation and high school English, will lead an exploration of the essence of mindful meditation, its origins, and the transformative effects it holds.

No prior experience is required, and there's no pressure. Be immersed in a guided mindfulness meditation tailored to the group's experience level. Feel free to bring your own cushion for added comfort if you wish, but this session can be entirely done in a good old chair.

Supported by insights from experience and the field of neuroscience, this session reveals how mindfulness bolsters teaching and learning by helping teachers first, as they seek to help their students and schools. Education happens best when teachers are best supported, and mindfulness has a powerful role to play. Explore case studies showcasing educators' tangible benefits, from stress reduction to sustained inspiration. Discover practical techniques, including breathing awareness and guided visualization, designed to empower educators.

Leave equipped with actionable insights and inspired to perhaps integrate mindfulness into your daily routine. Don't miss this opportunity to cultivate inspiration and enhance your teaching practice!
