Join us for a special Trumbull Library Author Event featuring Trumbull High School graduate and New York Times bestselling author Alison Espach. On Sunday, April 6, at 2 p.m., in the Hawley-Nichols Community Room at the Trumbull Library, 33 Quality Street, Espach will discuss her acclaimed novel, The Wedding People.
The Wedding People tells the story of Phoebe Stone, who arrives at Newport's grand Cornwall Inn alone, intending to indulge in a final extravagant weekend. Mistaken for a wedding guest, Phoebe becomes entangled in the lives of the wedding party, leading to unexpected connections and self-discovery. The novel has been praised for its blend of humor and emotional depth, exploring themes of love, loss, and the unpredictability of life.

Alison Espach is a critically acclaimed author known for her sharp wit, emotional insight, and richly drawn characters. A native of Trumbull, Connecticut, she gained widespread recognition with her debut novel, The Adults, which was a New York Times Editor’s Choice and earned nominations for several literary awards. Her most recent novel, The Wedding People, became a New York Times bestseller, praised for its exploration of love, loss, and human connection. Espach’s work has appeared in prestigious publications such as The New York Times, Salon, and Glamour, showcasing her talent for blending humor with poignant storytelling. In addition to her writing, she teaches creative writing at Providence College, inspiring the next generation of authors.
