Classics Book Club In-Person
Coming This Fall: Classics Book Club at Trumbull Library
Ever wanted to revisit a classic you read in school—or finally tackle one you've always meant to read? Join us for the new Classics Book Club, meeting Saturday mornings this fall at 10am in the Kiwanis Room. Meetings to be held: September 20, October 18, November 15, and December 13.
October's selection is Frankenstein or The Modern Prometheus by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley.
In a quest to unlock the secrets of life, ambitious scientist Victor Frankenstein creates a living being from dead matter. But his triumph quickly turns to horror as his creature, rejected and misunderstood, seeks revenge for his suffering. As creator and creation spiral toward destruction, the story explores the cost of unchecked ambition and the human need for connection. Both haunting and thought-provoking, Frankenstein is a timeless tale of responsibility, isolation, and what it means to be human.
A limited number of copies just for our book club will be set aside, starting September 20th. Stop in after September 20th and ask for a copy! This book is also available as a free pdf online, an ebook and eaudiobook through the Libby app, as well as Audiobook CD and regular text in the general collection at the Trumbull Library.
