Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum presents... Questioning Power

Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum presents... Questioning Power Online

QUESTIONING POWER
Isabella Gardner filled her Museum with portraits of princes and queens, and was herself a dynamic leader. Learn more about the Museum’s founder through the personalities she collected, and investigate how power has been represented in the art of different time periods and cultures.

Isabella Stewart Gardner died in 1924, leaving a museum “for the education and enjoyment of the public forever.” She provided an endowment to operate the museum, stipulating in her will that nothing in the galleries should be changed, and no items be acquired or sold from the collection. A power move.

Join us for a lively presentation and delve into the world of ISGM.
